By the 2028 presidential election, people under the age of 45 will constitute the majority of American voters. Studying these cohorts of younger voters is key to understanding what lies ahead. Experts in Brookings Center for Public Management have been analyzing the voting patterns, behaviors, and demographics of younger voters, demonstrating how the youngest generations are unlike those who came before.
On September 12, On September 12, join the Center for Effective Public Management for a virtual event to discuss the ways in which Americans under 45 will impact future elections and transform our democracy.

(4,037 posts)Republicans with their Trump-humping, zero tolerance for abortion/birth control, religious righteousness and climate change. All dead end issues and theyre committing political suicide with their no compromise and factless approach.
Sympthsical
(9,193 posts)Who is making these categories?
I'm middle aged older Millennial, and I swear people talk about me and my cohort like we're 23 and still just starting out. It's bizarre. I have nieces and nephews and friends' kids in college.
They also need to stop lumping Millennials and Gen Z together or they're not going to have an accurate view of what different demographics are doing. It feels like all these studies and stories are being told from a pure Boomer lens. Who else would call people in their 40s and 30s "younger"?
I noted in another thread about this earlier in the week that Millennials are becoming more conservative over time (which is worrisome), but no one's noticing because the media and various self-interested groups keep packaging us with Gen Z to make for a specific narrative.
Op-Ed from a few months back I largely agree with.

I think Trump's singular awfulness is masking demographic political shifts.
Fiendish Thingy
