(2,751 posts)And he or whomever acts for him will be so clumsy at it he'll get caught. We'd probably see a Don Jr video bragging about it. He'll definitely try something because he thinks he's so smart and the laws don't apply to him.

(9,509 posts)The challenge is, how many jurors is he going to try to bribe?
Now THAT's an I told you so-worthy prediction!

(18,669 posts)I don't think he'll do it directly either. He'll put someone else up to it and get caught that way.
You're right though.

(10,117 posts)Neither Trump nor his attorneys need to get a look at the jurors or surreptitiously photograph them so they can be IDd for Trumps goons to threaten. I suspect Trump is too afraid of Judge Chutkan to do any threatening himself.

(32,833 posts)The jury can be totally sequestered, yet not miss a thing that's going on in the main room.
I hope Jack Smith has the authority to order that up.

(21,685 posts)they might be able to do with threats or bribes to someone in the court system, they can get their addresses, phone numbers, and posdibly find some online photos or driver's licenses.
In today's world, I don't th8nk that anonymity is possible.

(11,665 posts)He will obliquely threaten all the jurors and count on an unhinged MAGAt (no shortage of those) to carry out the act. I take no responsibility at all

(32,813 posts)1. The j/6 case and the case coming out of GA, they know he will try and are ready for it. If loose cannon tries something funny in FL she may, like in the past get away with it, temporarily. But she may land herself in jail if not careful
2. Were talking about 3 jury pools, they arent going to be able to mess with all 3..again

(2,449 posts)there is no way, with access to all those people's identities, that he isn't going to tamper with someone somehow.
tamapering is literally what he does...when it come to everything

(32,813 posts)Not sure he has enough clout left to convince anyone to help him find a juror. Hes not going to be able to pay them. His threats of blackmail or politcal power grows weaker by the day.

(4,741 posts)I doubt Gotti associated with someone stupid enough to bankrupt a casino. He wasn't the brightest guy out there, but he wasn't incompetent from it, either. He always struck me as the type to have a zero-tolerance policy for stupid and incompetent, and I don't think it mattered if such a putz worked for him or not. Losers surround themselves with losers, and, no matter what else could be said about him, Gotti wasn't a loser.
A violent psychopath, sure. But not a loser.

(7,287 posts)at the moment, I'm blanking out on the investigator's name, his book and film. The book was used however, in the making of the film Gotti that released in 2018 I think. Very interesting film, though I do not recall tfg's name was referenced in that film.

(14,050 posts)He just needs one for a mis-trial. But he now has multiple jury pools to worry about.
I keep thinking back to Gov. Symington's (AZ) fraud and extortion trial. There was one juror, a Republican Precinct leader who told multiple lies to get on the jury and refused to deliberate. The other jurors asked the judge to have her removed, which happened, and the stand-by juror that replaced her voted with the other 11 to convict. Symington successfully appealed on the basis that the juror was improperly removed. Before a new trial was started, Symington was pardoned by President Clinton. I don't think the reason for the pardon was ever explained except that Symington had once saved Clinton from drowning while working as a life guard.

(7,287 posts)The real world of power and influence over justice does so much damage to the systems we, as a society, need to have faith in.
it's the accumulation of that sort of thing, to the point of common place which is enormously destructive.
fixing it is nearly impossible to accomplish when it is so wide spread and deeply embedded.

(4,741 posts)If it's a bribe, it won't be money. He's too selfish for that, so it would have to be something else. A high-paying government job if he's re-elected sounds about his speed.
Intimidation is cheaper and easier.

(17,200 posts)For the idea, even though I don't really think it will happen. It's more plausible that rather than bribe, he threatens.
