MI: Primary eliminates 1 Burton City Council candidate as 8 others move to general election

BURTON, MI -- Burton voters have narrowed the field of candidates for four seats on the City Council to eight after the primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Unofficial results from the Genesee County Clerk’s Office show Joe Davis, who received 510 votes, won’t advance to the general election on Nov. 7.

Those who secured spots on the November ballot include incumbents Greg Fenner, Steven D. Heffner and Tom Martinbianco. Council member Tina Conley did not seek re-election to the council and is running instead for mayor in November against incumbent Duane Haskins.

The top vote-getter Tuesday was Fenner with 1,401 votes, followed by Candice Miller, who received 1,335 votes, Heffner, who received 1,171 votes, and Martinbianco, who received 1,154 votes.
