...snip...
In an interview with NewsNation in June, Grusch expanded on his belief that there's a massive international cover-up of alien life that's been going on for 90 years.
He told NewsNation that in 1933 the Italian government under Benito Mussolini recovered a UAP, which it then "moved to a secure airbase in Italy for the rest of the fascist regime until 1944-1945."
Then, shockingly, Grusch said Pope Pius XII "backchanneled that" and the Vatican "told the Americans what the Italians had and we ended up scooping it."

Oddly, Republicans like the Papists when it comes to abortion
Republicans like the Jews as they must control the Holy Land for the Rapture to occur
Republicans like the Russians (communists) because Trump wants a trump tower in Russia and they blindly follow the Trump.

(1,942 posts)So I did a search at Amazon for books by this guy, and got this:
ALIENS THEY ARE COMING: Pentagon report David Grusch 1933 Mussolini's UFO
by David Egon Trevor | Jul 30, 2023
So here's this book, released today, by an author named "David Egon Trevor."
Egon??
So I google searched his name and what comes up are links to friggin Ghost Busters fan fiction! WTF?
"Trevor Spengler is the love child of Egon and Janine." Again, WTF??
("Janine" was the Ghost Busters' secretary, played by Annie Potts.)
Who vetted this guy, and who brought him in to testify to Congress?
This is NUTS.

You can see the cover there.
Or you could search it yourself. It comes right up at Amazon.
I can't believe no one looked into this "whistleblower".

(17,267 posts)Of people/person misinterpreting search results as being 'truth' and not really understanding how search terms work.
A search for David Egon Trevor does indeed bring up some Ghostbusters results - because without specified search parameters the search is for any site where the info contains the words David, Egon or Trevor.
If you use quote marks, the search results are considerably constrained to sites, in whose description, that exact term is used. Mostly to a dozen Amazon sites with French language results.
You really need to learn how to frame your search terms, so as not to return misleading results that can be pounced upon and quoted on reputable websites like DU.

(4,062 posts)I have seen nothing that indicates anyone but the usual suspects think he's credible. But maybe I'm not googling the right words.
I find it very, very interesting that his attorney is I. Charles McCullough. The ICIG from Obamas administration. He would not be involved if he thought Gruschs whistleblower report was garbage.
shrike3
(4,062 posts)Maybe I missed it, but I don't see anything here about the ICIG saying the claim is credible.
From your link:
Greg Eghigian, a history professor at Pennsylvania State University and expert in the history of UFOs as it occurs in the context of public fascination notes that there have been many instances over recent decades in the U.S. of people "who previously worked in some kind of federal department" coming forward to make "bombshell allegations" about the truth regarding UFOs with the whistleblower claims by Grusch fitting this pattern.[30] Eghigian described the 1940s50s media enthusiasm about flying saucers, and comments that the successful books on the subject by authors Donald Keyhoe, Frank Scully and Gerald Heard, "provided the model for a new kind of public figure: the crusading whistleblower dedicated to breaking the silence over the alien origins of unidentified flying objects."[31] Since then all these similarly credentialed claimants have been unable to provide any further corroboration.[31] Eghigian noted the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office denied all of the claims made by Grusch and he questioned the veracity of Grusch's claims. According to The Guardian:
Eghigian is also skeptical about the veracity of these claims because it looks like Grusch followed Pentagon protocol in publishing this information, meaning that the Department of Defence approved the information he would pass on to the press, which is something the department only does if the information is not classified. If Grusch is telling the truth, surely this information would be classified, Eghigian says, and the department would not have allowed him to go on the record.[30]
Seth Shostak, the senior astronomer at the SETI Institute writing on MSNBC.com about Grusch's claims made in his testimony to Congress, said that the claims are extraordinary, "But where is the evidence? Its MIA. Neither Grusch nor anyone else claiming to have knowledge of secret government UAP programs has ever been able to publicly produce convincing photos showing alien hardware splayed across the landscape. And remember, were not talking about a Cessna that plowed into a wheat field. Were talking about, presumably, an alien interstellar rocket, capable of bridging trillions of miles of space, and sporting technology that is obviously alien." Shostak concluded that "From the standpoint of science, theres still no good evidence [that extraterrestrials are visiting the Earth], only an 'argument from authority.' ... Grusch "says theyre here. But either he cant prove it, or he wont. Until he does, we should consider his stories to be just that: stories."
My take on Grusch is similar to Eghigian's: we've heard this all before.
I just read the link again, still see nothing about the ICIG finding his claims credible. Could you copy and paste, if you do find it?

Trumpers told me in all seriousness that Francis had already been arrested and it would be announced shortly.
These same Trumpers now tell me Francis is part of the QAnon cult. If he has time, I suppose he could take part in an alien cover-up.
