From the WaPo, there are new details about the chronology of superseding indictment on Thursday charging Trump, Nauta, and third man De Oliveira with conspiracy to obstruct justice in damaging or attempting to damage surveillance video at MAL. This information answers why these obstruction of justice charges were not brought in the June indictment. The key witness here is so-called Employee 4, not named in the indictment but widely reported to be MAL IT specialist Yuscil Taveras.
For much of the classified documents probe, there did not appear to be a conflict between Nauta and Taveras.
After Trump and Nauta were indicted in June, however, Taveras decided he had more he wanted to tell the authorities about his conversations with De Oliveira, according to people familiar with the investigation who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private discussions.
Taveras offered information implicating all three defendants in an alleged conspiracy to cover up evidence, these people said.
So these new charges were brought quickly, in a matter of a few weeks because Taveras essentially flipped on co-workers De Oliveira and Nauta after the June indictment. The same Trump-paid lawyer Stan Woodward has been representing both Nauta and Taveras. That dual representation cannot continue because Woodward cannot represent one client while cross-examining another client.

(6,991 posts)And now his ex-employees 4 and 5 are shitting in his big, treasonous, racist, guilty of espionage mouth, and 4 and 5 are giving it all up on employee #2 whose a fucking liar and who also tried to destroy CCTV surveillance footage
I mean these 2 ex-employees *4 and 5* are giving it all up: Texts messages and anything that they can find.

(12,408 posts)that this is precisely the kind of mechanism and trajectory (for investigations and prosecutions) that many have been attempting to describe (and defend) in discussions here?
(you use the little rats - to squeal on the big rats ... )
(Also of, largely unremarked, note - is the very real issue, and problems presented, by the considerable amount of 'conflict' provided in these cases. It's a real thicket ... )
