PA Chester Upland School District Deal in the Works to Keep the Schools Open

PA Chester Upland School District will not close due to loan in work

CHESTER, Pa. - January 17, 2012 (WPVI) -- A deal appears to be in the works to provide $3.2 million in state money to help the cash-strapped Chester-Upland School District.

Both the district and the state have submitted that figure to a federal judge, but it has not yet been approved.

The money would help keep operations going in the district while it weathers a financial crisis. The district cannot meet payroll, however teachers and staffers have vowed to keep working.
