Cleveland Plain DealerSUNBURY, Ohio Abortion. Guns. Marijuana. A rising minimum wage. A lowered age of consent. A leftist attack on family and fatherhood.
This, a panel of conservatives speaking at a county GOP event at a crowded Delaware County church Monday night, is what State Issue 1 is all about.
While abortion is at the forefront now Republicans hastily scheduled an Aug. 8 vote on a referendum to make future Constitutional amendments harder, just before an expected November vote to constitutionally guarantee abortion access in Ohio the speakers widened the aperture for voters as they began casting early ballots and Election Day draws nearer.
Backers of State Issue 1 have previously explained their focus on defending the Constitution. But in a campaign involving town halls hosted in churches around the state, the messaging shifted to describe a sprawling and existential threat from the political left. Liberals, boxed out of power in a GOP-dominated state government, want to use the Constitution to fundamentally change a way of life, according to Ohio Right to Life President Mike Gonidakis.

Who would have a goal of destroying the family unit, and why? No one, and no reason. But it pads their own conceit to believe outrageous things about their opponents.

We dont want to destroy the family. We want middle class families to survive and thrive without fear of bigotry or getting shot.
