(24,514 posts)I only see where she has temporarily been assigned. When was the random draw? Who did the random draw?

(8,218 posts)Seems awful strange that Connor would be chosen by the "wheel"? I hope she recuses or is replaced for the trail. If not she will make an ass of herself. I am sure of that based on her previous stupidity.

(4,669 posts)He said he doesn't know if she's just there for Tuesday's arraignment or assigned to his case. He said he didn't know how she was chosen, if it was a very small number of judges she was "randomly" picked from. He said it's supposed to be a random selection. I'm thinking it was a 1 of 1 random choosing. Tribe also wondered if she wasn't assigned by a higher up. He's hoping that she will see what Trump has done and "do the right thing". I'm thinking she a Ginni Thomas & Amy Coney Barrett type of zealot and will protect her "God sent" trump at all cost.

(9,406 posts)When President Trump arrives at Miami federal court Tuesday afternoon, who will be the presiding judge?
The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon. The Fort Pierce-based judge is a former federal prosecutor nominated by Trump in 2020.
Cannon was randomly assigned, selected from among four federal judges in South Florida.

(11,789 posts)There are currently 15 active Federal District Court judges in South Florida, plus 11 with senior status who could be assigned to hear cases, per the New York Times. That means 26 federal judges that could hear the case. She has neither the ability or the experience to hear this case.

(9,406 posts)It states that only 4 judges were available
Now Jack Smith has to argue that Cannon either has to recuse herself (highly unlikely) or have the federal district or appellate court (I don't remember which) to replace her, and he has to have a strong argument for that to happen.
Fortunately, he does have a strong argument based on her previous bizarre decisions in favor of Pendejo45.
