Martin v. United States, No. 18-12643 (11th Cir. 2020)
https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/appellate-courts/ca11/18-12643/18-12643-2020-02-04.html

....has nothing to do with assigning judges to a case.

Neither does

Martin v. United States, 439 F. App'x 842 (11th Cir. 2011)

U.S. v. Martin, 455 F.3d 1227 (11th Cir. 2006)

UNITED STATES v. MARTIN No.?02-10676 (11th Cir. 2003)

UNITED STATES v. MARTIN No. 14–11019 (11th Cir. 2015).

There's a lot of people named "Martin" who have appealed a criminal conviction to the 11th Circuit over the years. You are going to have to do better than that.

I'd love to see Cannon assigned to this case and end up doing something so stupid the 11th Circuit catapaults her into the sea.

The appellate panel simply got tired of overruling the district court judge who couldn't get the sentencing right.

You suffered through a lot more than I was willing.

In any event, that’s the sort of entertainment I’d like to see.

I was looking for a case directly dealing with judge assignment at the outset.

There’s a bunch of “US v. Martin” cases, so that title doesn’t identify a particular case.

As noted above, this one:

U.S. v. Martin, 455 F.3d 1227 (11th Cir. 2006)

…is a case where the 11th Circuit was pissed enough with the district court judge, that they remanded the case with instructions to the district to assign another judge.

So, if Cannon does something stupid, that can happen, because they already slapped her around on the investigative phase of this case.

I don’t get the freak out over Cannon. There’s only so much she can do, and the DOJ will appeal as necessary.

I had read it on another site this morning and was just trying to verify it.
No worries.
