going to go down in flames. Like a suicide bomber. He'll take the Country, his family, his friends and his enemies with him. Trump was pushing the line the other night on CNN. The admissions of guilt that he made were meant to be a challenge to see how far he could go. If he is stopped, he will burn it all down.
Just my opinion for what it's worth.

(10,242 posts)He has no plans to burn anything down.
He will just rage, abuse, con and lie his way into burning down the house. Because other people are not real to him. Only his little baby feelings matter. And most of that feeling is all about hate, revenge and hurting others.
I wish someone would ask him what does love feel like and watch him stumble and spit.

(3,169 posts)It has long been my belief that if Trump doesn't get the nomination, or if he gets a ton of pushback from the Republicans, that he would gladly start his own Trump Party (you know the asshole would name it after himself) and he would encourage his true disciples to abandon the Republican Party. Trump has no loyalty to anything except himself.
He would see Republican opposition as the ultimate betrayal and he would use his loud mouth to disparage and demean Republicans left and right, while he would no doubt leave the Dems alone. It would lead to the biggest Democratic election victory since Johnson in 64, and we could say Hello to the House majority and 60+ Dem Senators. It would be a dream come true

(21,798 posts)First destroy the existing system in order to avoid legal consequences for all his actions.
Then once the system is destroyed, set himself up as the leader of the "new sysyem" - the Trump brand of fascism.
He is an all or nothing person. Does not compromise. Does not accept losses. Must always be #1, the winner. He must have everything his way. And he knows how to tap into the psychology of other losers to gain their following.
We criticize and even laugh at the Trump followers and inner circle because they are so incompetent, and because their personal and work histories show how unqualified they are for their positions in government.
But, do not underestimate them. They are losers with big egos. When they can't satisfy their egos under a democratic (small d) system of governance, they support its destruction and a new system with rules that reward people like them. That's what happened in Nazi Germany. People who wanted instant success without earning it through education, training, or work experience signed on with the Nazis because all that was required was total loyalty. SS officers loved the authority of the uniform, the fear that the sight of them instilled in people, and the opportunities to express their own "superiority" over others in sadistically cruel ways.
When enough of those thugs group together to support a fascist takeover, the change in rules benefits them and hurts everyone else.

(6,017 posts)But I disagree about him even being able to conceive that he's going down. He is a true narcissist, on top of being a spoiled, privileged, bigoted brat. He's had plenty of minor rulings against him before. So long as his freedom is not curtailed, I don't think he sees it as anyone having real power over him.

He may also drop whatever dirt he has on his opponents.
But he's not taking down the country.

(10,093 posts)when a small crowd applauds and are in on the party. He is high on himself and the only one he took down on Wed was himself with so many admissions of criminality, against what his lawyers are saying, that Jack Smith cannot help but bring into his case. If he takes down his family and the rest of the republican party it will be by happenstance, because he really is not smart.
