I wish Lieu was my US Rep. He has constant tweets about wrongdoing by US lawmakers and officials posted.
All Democrats should be doing the same IMHO!!

(28,829 posts)because i quit twitter and can't even block the trolls. so fuck it. did anyone also mention that alito is the one who wrote the horrific dobbs decision? why should anyone respect a "supreme" court when it refuses to hold up the constitution?

(28,829 posts)yeah, i used to be pretty devoted to twitter. there were a lot of good people there and i had blocked my algorithm into hardly ever feeding me bad content. but then musk happened and i don't miss it all that much. i just wish everyone would join me (and many others) and stop feeding the beast.
it became so common though. municipalities and companies like Uber - I don't know what will happen the next time I use Uber if there's a problem and I don't have twitter.

(51,105 posts)Analytica invasion of people's minds with psy-op curated messages made me decide I never will.
I think people giving monsters that kind of access to their minds and their time is bonkers.

(11,448 posts)appears to to see himself as spokesperson (and defender?) of the court. Umm - isn't there a thing called chief justice?
(although - with the addition of Barrett - a lot of people have called this the Alito court - so perhaps not as fanciful as it might be)
My own opinion - of the recent kerfuffle and 'big reveals' - Thomas (and wife) are still really the primary cases (perhaps the only cases?) that really stink up the room -and look like clear ethics problems. Roberts wife having consultancy positions? Meh. On the other hand - think it is clear that the court needs to get its house in order. And - despite the public brush backs - I suspect something on that order will probably take place - most likely behind closed doors.
But the big damage the court has done to its reputation during the recent era - still remains in the strained and outrageous rulings it has promulgated.

Justice Clarence Thomas and Ginni Thomas have brought shame to themselves and the Supreme Court of the United States with their corrupt, hidden acceptance of payments and gifts.
Justice Thomas should resign.
