and it occurred to me how that was the end of an era.

Long gone is vigorous investigative reporting as well as politicians holding their own accountable.

Now we are stuck with infotainment to fill the cable void and sham congressional committees trying to shield politicians from the law.

I guess it was good while it lasted.
