Mike Pence brain droppings.

He truly believes he can re-claim the Republican Party and win the Presidency. He doesn't realize that that train left the station a long time ago.

He worries that he will be physically assaulted by Trump's soldiers, the MAGA Special Forces.

He would like very much to keep his testimony before the Grand Jury out of the public realm.

He is concerned that he may be criminally liable for some of his actions before January 6th.

He loves his political Party, maybe moreso than his country? He wants to protect a Party that no longer exists.

He thinks about how history will judge him. Did he betray his Party and country and go along with the evil Democrats and the "deep state"? Or did he choose to protect and defend the Constitution?

He knows there are people that hate him and will be looking for vengeance if his testimony before the Special Counsel becomes public.

He continues to believe that the Republican Party will survive Donald Trump and look to him, Mike Pence, as the leader of the Party.

Mike, remember that before you go to bed every night, then make your failed plans.

any real chance at a nomination - even with the GOP of old. Always seemed a bit of a sad joke - more like a needy plea, than anything with a real chance. To imagine that there is any shot left today ... That's just purely delusion and disordered mental process.

All he ever offered the ticket were the Evangelists and Halleluia people, who had no enthusiasm for Chump's candidacy. If Chump had wanted a real political partner who brought regional or national support to the ticket, he would have chosen somebody like Ted Cruz. But big egos are always a problem, and Chump's ego is no exception.

As for Mike Pence, I believe he was willing to testify as to the meetings and conversations of January 6th. I believe he put on an act of reluctance to testify to throw off the MAGAts who constantly hounded him. He has every reason to fear those nutjobs. But the only way he could clear his own name is to testify against Chump and tell what really happened leading up to that day. Pence can actually bury Chump since (it seems) he took no part in the Stop the Steal himself. Let's not forget that Mike Pence has a law degree, so that makes him quite a bit smarter than Chump.

I'm not lionizing Mike Pence or making him out to be a hero. But I'm sure he realized that eventually he would have to testify or else he'd go down with Chump.
