And/or indicate he's a winner on the national stage? His donors will flee. All of them. The billionaires support those who can win, not weak sisters.

As for the issues? The money people are more concerned about what affects their wallets, not the issues of the little people. Because ultimately, those issues don't apply to them.

They want someone in the WH to do their own bidding. The rest is just noise.

When you're trying to outTrump Trump--with no entertainment value--you're in trouble. The money guys liked good ole Ron bc they believed he was a saner, smarter version of Donnie, would increase their bottom line and could WIN.

However, it turns out the man is just a meaner, far less appealing version of Donald Trump. Plus, the 'base' has not accepted the spin.
