KY 4 wounded & 2 dead
AL 20 wounded & 6 dead
I think those #s are right.
Their 2nd amendment freedoms seem to be hurting all of America's 1st amendment freedom and
that is the right to peacefully assemble.
BTW fuck the NRA, the gun makers, and the GOP.

(1,896 posts)We somehow accept the numbers from the two shootings are totals for those states. Is it possible that there were no other shootings in KY or AL, populations 4-1/2 million and 5 million respectively. So far this year there have been 11,500 killed by shooting alone. It shouldn't be necessary to break down the numbers - a over/under count does exist.

(35,447 posts)like during the Vietnam War. Last year and so far this year the death toll from guns
probably comes close to the total death toll in that war.

(3,213 posts)No other country has this problem, because no other country needs a 2nd Amendment, nor do they worship guns.

(11,640 posts)It's how it has been misinterpreted, twisted, and pimped by the gun manufacturers, the NRA and the gun lobby, and the right wing gun nuts.
Many have claimed the wording is vague and most seem to ignore all but the words at the end: "...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." They, of course skip: "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State...". It was ratified in 1791 along with The Bill of Rights. I believe there were only 14 states at the time.
The U.S. Constitution makes clear what a Militia is, how it is to be organized, regulated, funded, and ready for use. See Article I, Section 8. If one actually reads the U.S. Constitution first, and then the Bill of Rights there really is no misunderstanding of what the 2nd Amendment intended.
The 2nd Amendment is obsolete. We now have National and State Militia. The U.S. military covers land, sea, and air forces--along with State National Guard. All depend on the U.S. Congress for funding, etc. as set out in the U.S. Constitution.
