There is a “no words” story coming out of McCurtain Co today involving county leaders discussing killing local journalists, flagrant racism & mocking a woman’s death from an arson. This is a community paper w/no online presence.

I'm from Kentucky, yet couldn't understand half of what they said. It resembles English with syllables missing.

It's so blatant and until the Tenn. expulsion story came out, greatly underestimated. There is just deep, deep hatred in the nation's red areas for any of the 'others'.

It's so saddening, but at the same time it's strengthening as we now know how deep the strain is and what we're up against.

happen anywhere; "at least we're more civilized here in the USA."

There are places and people here who, if given a free hand, would eagerly devolve into atrocities like that. And public officials currently in office who would rise to command it all.

Women, disabled, people of color, anybody who is weak to them is a source of a lot of yuks. So instead of being at a sports bar they are out of county council meeting. Same guys. I say again, this is who they are

Weren't converted into territories until every territory within our borders achieved statehood first. Even then, they couldn't return to the union as a state until they had proved that they were became civilized about how to treat their fellow human beings. Best part: No representation in Congress or the Senate until they groveled enough to get them again. Probably needed to add on a requirement to pay reparations to the Union for their treason, maybe hang the flag officers and traitor government hierarchy while they were at it.

That would have made those yahoos learn a thing or two about becoming decent human beings, at long last.

Oklahoma sheriff, commissioner, accused of discussing killing a reporter and returning to Black hangings

https://www.oklahoman.com/story/news/2023/04/16/oklahoma-sheriff-and-commissioner-accused-of-racism-and-threats/70119918007/

In southeast Oklahoma, the sheriff of McCurtain County, one of his investigators and a county commissioner are accused by a newspaper of discussing to kill a local reporter and lamenting that modern justice no longer includes hanging Black people.

The explosive accusations were published this week in the McCurtain Gazette-News.

According to the newspaper, Sheriff Kevin Clardy, investigator Alicia Manning and District 2 Commissioner Mark Jennings were part of an impromptu discussion after the March 6 meeting of the county Board of Commissioners.

The Gazette reported that it is in possession of the full audio recording of the discussion. The FBI and the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office also have copies of the recording, according to the newspaper.

A portion of the audio recordings were released online over the weekend, and while the audio matched some of the quoted material in the story, The Oklahoman could not identify who the speakers were in the recordings.
