It doesn't have the "X" thingy in which to delete it. Just stays there in a semitransparent state. Eventually it will disappear of its own accord.

My ads are blocked. Maybe DUers whose ads are not blocked are seeing advertising in that bottom margin space.

Not a crabby old lady. Just a confused old lady. Wouldn't mind the ad at the bottom as long as there is an 'X' to get rid of it. Test away . . .

Being a creature of habit I like the ad at the top.

Agree with test away

It's a fun plugin published by the EFF. It's interesting to see how many trackers and things some websites can spawn. DU is relatively lightweight.

Said it had blocked two potential trackers from DU's site but I'll disable it for DU.

So, seeing a blurry band at the bottom of the screen is kinda normal anyway. It's just that this one stays blurry if you move your head up and down to "move the line", lol.

Old fart syndrome for sure. Talked to my 53-yr-old son yesterday and he was complaining about his vision and achy joints. I said how funny that I now have to talk to my KIDS about getting old. Yikes.

I didn't click on it in the first three places, but YES, now that it is transparent across the bottom of the screen I desperately want Joe Biden removed from office. (sarcasm)

Come on man.

Part of the vertical space in your window is used for this ad; but it doesn't allow for that in the amount that a 'page up' or 'page down' command (whether from a click on the scroll bar, or the keyboard) does. So a line that is underneath the ad then disappears off the top of the screen when you scroll down, and you never see it. It's usually banners at the top of pages that screw this up.

Why has the internet design community, over the past decade or so, just ignored this glaring user problem? There really ought to have been an agreed fix by now.
