And John Kerry will be new Secretary of State, even though I disagree with opening up that Senate seat.

(2,842 posts)of Wall Street firms is he on? Wall Street was almost totally against Obama.
If Bowles is a Democrat, why would anyone want to be a Democrat?

Bonus: Susan Rice would allow me to utter the phrase "Secretary of State Rice" without ing in my mouth.

(692 posts)We've had that in how many prior administrations and it just doesn't work! There has to be one person in this country with the qualifications to be the head of the Treasury and not be a WALL ST VULTURE!!!

(692 posts)I know it's not a "fact". But I do seem to remember a man name Hank Paulson and another man named Timothy Geithner; both Wall Streeters. All I was trying to say was to we need some different blood in that cabinet seat...not Wall Street guys.

(62,444 posts)I'm a lifelong Delawarean who has always voted for anyone named Biden on any ballot (except the one primary vote for Obama).
Beau Biden is an okay guy, but does not have the experience or a record demonstrating qualification to be US AG.
I'm even a wee bit disappointed with particular areas in relation to organized crime in which Delaware seems to have fallen back on a lot of progress that was made some years ago against certain rackets here, namely fronts for human trafficking, which we had basically eliminated and which have begun to again spring up like weeds in the last couple of years. There are a couple of factors which contributed to this, but the DE AG's office has been completely asleep at the switch on those particular organized crime operations. Overall, the office has been competently managed, but I wouldn't call it stellar.

(9,696 posts)Richard Lugar will be out of a job soon. It might be an outreach for Obama to use him in some position. He frequently crossed the aisle and supported Dem efforts (except when McConnell smacked him in the balls to keep him in line).
