Say you don't like the topic, it's triggering, makes you uncomfortable, use the magic word "unsafe" and - boom - administrations scrub speeches, presentations, and some class materials.

I've been objecting to this kind of thing for ages because academic freedom is something that should be valued and protected.

I mean, I'm glad people are getting on board with it in this instance, but it shouldn't have started because people finally noticed it was happening to a topic they valued.

Yesterday was a massive fibromyalgia pain day for me... an "at wits end" with pain that had lasted all week. I had just managed to sleep for about an hour when the front door bell rang, waking me up. And don't you know, I looked like the wreck of the Hesperus in answering the door.

Standing there was a young couple nicely dressed and I sussed them out immediately. The woman tried to give me a pamphlet. I immediately handed it back to her like it was on fire. I asked them "Christian?" They nodded and attempted to probably tell me JV. I told them I wanted nothing to do with that hateful, political religion and I wanted them out of my yard immediately. And until they stopped worshipping Satan and doing evil to people and the Earth they had no permission to come back to my door. Period.

That's against my religion. It's a real legal thing in Idaho. If something is against your religion, you don't have to do it. It was written by mormons for mormons but many have used it against them.
