(102,292 posts)courts. And that Georgia law allowing for Special Grand Juries and their procedures has been previously adjudicated over decades. What a lying or intensely ignorant excuse for a lawyer.

(43,416 posts)He is the first and only Trump hire for this case I would even remotely consider hiring if I needed a defence attorney in GA. (which I can say I never will, lol).
I really do not know why he took on Trump as a client (money and fame are the likely reasons I would wager, but Trump has a terrible record of paying the bills).
Trump Hires Attorney Who Once Called Him Racist Architect of Fraudulent Trump University
https://lawandcrime.com/awkward/trump-hires-attorney-who-once-called-him-racist-architect-of-fraudulent-trump-university/
Former president Donald Trump recently hired a powerful, Atlanta-based attorney to represent him as he resists a longstanding criminal investigation launched by a prosecutor in Georgia over his efforts to overturn the Peach States 2020 presidential election results. Somewhat awkwardly for the 45th president, his newest attorney has previously been one of his most vehement critics.
That lawyer, Drew Findling, whose last name is pronounced with soft i-sound on the first syllable (like the top part of a dolphin), previously took his new client task for remarks about NBA legend LeBron James. In a tweet sent Aug. 4, 2018, Findling called Trump both racist and pathetic. He also accused the then-president of fraud. The racist architect of fraudulent Trump University criticizing Lebron, the founder of a free school for children, the lawyer tweeted in a post that is still live as of this writing. POTUS pathetic once again!
Findlings comments were aimed at Trump going after James during an interview in which the heralded and highly-decorated small forward appeared on CNN with host Don Lemon to discuss a school he funds for at-risk youth in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. During that interview, James also assailed Trump for stoking national division through sports and saying: sports has never been something that divides people its always been something that brings someone together.

The attorney also addressed his past criticism of Trump albeit somewhat obliquely. I may differ politically from many of my clients, but that doesnt change my commitment to defend against wrongful investigations, Findling continued. In this case, the focus on President Trump in Fulton County, Georgia is clearly an erroneous and politically driven persecution and along with my office and co-counsel, I am fully committed to defend against this injustice.

I guess he has a price his ethics and values can be bought and paid for.
Typical example of why so many hate lawyers, ffs.

(1,323 posts)Drew Findling, supposedly a brilliant defense attorney. At least hes not a complete joke like Joe Tacopino (Bragg case lawyer). Hes claiming that the remarks of the first grand jury have tainted the process, Trump didn't break any laws, deflect, deflect, deflect, blah, blah, blah. Refuses to answer direct questions from Ari. Im concerned that he may be able to successfully obfuscate the case enough to create doubt. Ari is getting fed up.

(21,577 posts)that's nonsense. drumpf will get a 12 person jury like everyone else and they can screen out anyone that shows any bias because of the grand jury foreperson's comments.

The motion asks that the judge "preclude any state prosecutor agency from presenting or utilizing any evidence or testimony derived by the Special Purpose Grand Jury." MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell noted that it goes against a Georgia state law.
"I was a little worried at first, I thought it was going to be someone said it was a 485-pound document. It turned out to be 485 pages. Most of them were just filler it was very easy and a quick read over dinner, in fact," Tribe explained. "It doesn't say much of anything. It makes bizarre claims. It says that Judge Robert McBurney was really unfair. It doesn't show anything about a supposedly unfair. On the contrary, he ruled quite often against things that Fani Willis wanted to do. It asked to have Fani Willis, and her whole office removed because they were illegal or unfair. But that effort was already made by the fake electors, and they were quickly turned away by the Georgia courts. There is really nothing here. It is just air."
