The MAGA War on Education: A Culture War Upon KNOWLEDGE ITSELF
As Rachael Maddow recently observed, Florida and other MAGA states are at war with education, diversity, and DEMOCRACY.
They are not only banning books on slavery and America's history of racism, not only banning historical accounts of the efforts Black people other minorities have made to overcome... banning not only books acknowledging the existence of gay and trans people and their right to live in a free and unfettered environment safe from persecution and marginalization, but they are also banning books on the Holocaust. As Maddow suggested, so America's Nazis can DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN: History repeating itself: Rachel Maddow charts a new outbreak of Nazism in the US Shocking ban of book about Holocaust survivor's granddaughter in DeSantis' Florida - Raw Story [link:http://|Jodi Picoult's Holocaust Novel Removed as Florida School District Purges Libraries to Comply With State Law - Jewish Times] Jodi Picoult doubles down against Florida book bans in new op-ed - AOL Jodi Picoult: What Florida Doesn’t Want You to Know About Its Book Bans - TheDailyBeast excerpt: The majority of the books that were targeted do not even have a kiss in them. What they do have, however, are issues like racism, abortion rights, gun control, gay rights, and other topics that encourage kids to think for themselves. ![]()

2. Excellent OP
Ignorance facilitates history repeating itself.
Knowledge destroys lies about one race being superior to another. Knowledge is very bad for white supremacy or the supremacy of any other race. That said this is about dominance in all spheres with the economic power at the top. |

Rosa Parks’ Race Remove from Florida Textbook as Part of ‘Stop Woke Act’
As part of the Stop Woke Act, publisher Studies Weekly has removed references to Rosa Parks‘ race in a draft of a Florida textbook. The publisher also removed references to race in a Civil War lesson, The New York Times reports. The Studies Weekly lesson on Parks is for first graders and reportedly says that Parks was told to move to the back of a segregated bus “because of the color of her skin.” A second version was also submitted for state review and it fails to mention race. “She was told to move to a different seat. She did not. She did what she believed was right,” the textbook passage read, according to the Times. So, according to the new fascist approved text, Rosa Parks was just "having a bad day." Right. ![]() |
