Young Dems Back Biden: 85% want Biden to be the 2024 nominee.

Emerson National Poll: 71% of Democratic Voters Think Biden Should Be 2024 Nominee

Biden’s support is highest among Democratic voters under 35

Spencer Kimball, Executive Director of Emerson College Polling, said: “Biden’s support is highest among Democratic voters under 35: 85% of whom think he should be the nominee. This sentiment decreases to 72% of those between 35 and 49, 61% of those between 50 and 64, and increases to 67% of those over 65.”

In the 2024 Republican Primary, President Donald Trump continues to hold 55% of the vote. This number reflects his standing in the January Emerson poll, as well as the June 2022 Emerson poll. A quarter of Republican primary voters (25%) support Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for the GOP nomination, a four point decrease since last month when he held 29% support. Former Vice President Mike Pence holds 8%, and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley holds 5%. Both Pence and Haley have increased their support by two percentage points since last month.

and a net 36 points more than older Boomers and up.

In 2024, Millennials plus Gen Z will likely equal Boomers and up in terms of actual votes (not just eligible voters), and counting the cusper micro gen Xennials (born 1977-1980) will easily pass them.

Millennials and Gen Z have voted far more Democratic than their predecessors were at the same age. Even if they do grow more conservative as they age, it’s unlikely they would end up as conservative as older generations are today.

I am so happy that they are sitting up and paying close attention. This is after all about their very futures.

That doesn't include a lot of Democratic leaners who didn't vote who are presumably gettable.

Dig into the numbers and account for party affiliations, and you've about 150 young Democratic voters (hard to say exactly, because they don't disclose it, so I went with total youth ratios by recent Democratic margins). Mix in that the South accounts for nearly 40% of respondents for some reason.

It's a weird poll. Doesn't really track with any of my experiences with people 34 and under, both in life or online spaces.

But it's a neat headline.

And it doesn't matter my digging into the poll. Biden will be the nominee if he runs, and we'll all vote for him. That's just what's going to happen. Just going to note no one's mentioning the general election numbers in that poll. But again, the South is such a big chunk of respondents. It's strange.

And didn't consider it worthy as it was questionable they were contacting that group.

Hopefully, it keeps anyone that was serious thinking of running to back out.
