Inside the Unholy Sex Scandal Rocking Trump's Ex-Adviser

Frank Pavone, a defrocked priest who was formerly a Catholic adviser to Donald Trump, is engulfed in a sex scandal that is rocking the anti-abortion movement.

Pavone, 64, is the director of Priests for Life, a non-profit that funnels millions of dollars a year into the anti-abortion movement.

He is also an outspoken activist whose political activities have brought him into repeated conflict with the Catholic Church. In December 2022, he was defrocked by the Vatican after repeated clashes with his bishop over his use of social media to advocate conservative political causes.

Now, at least four different women have accused Pavone of sexual misconduct according to reporting by The Pillar. Pavone and Priests for Life have strongly denied the accusations.

I’m still waiting for a reporter to ask one of these assholes about that. Hmm, a place where sexual abusers are often protected. Even laws passed to protect these scumbags. Those are actual facts. But eh, let’s wage a war on drag queens instead.

as I have been, you'd know that he is definitely a creep who has done HIGH questionable things with aborted fetuses. He has definitely been creepy to many younger women who worked as interns. I don't think any of it qualifies as sexual assault. Harassment at work, absolutely. From the accusations, he never had an actual physical or sexual relationship with any of the women accusing him of inappropriate behavior.

I can't read this particular article, so I don't know if there is more information in it. There may be, and if women are accusing him of breaking his vows or sexually assaulting them, then it's even worse.

He was rightfully laicized for disobeying his bishops. (Not for the sexual misconduct, which are still in the accusation stage.... nothing has been done legally about it, from what I've read.)

What's interesting to me is this is being reported across the board. In liberal and more conservative catholic papers/media... they're all saying the same thing. Unfortunately The Daily Beast is the first secular news source where I've seen this referenced, and there is a paywall on it, so I can't read it.

But even Church Militant (who is extreme right wing) is reporting against Pavone, which is really interesting to me.

Jenn Morson. She wrote an article for American Magazine (a Jesuit Catholic magazine) about her experience with Pavone. She worked with him and defended him for years, but reading back on other people's experiences she realizes she had been loosely groomed by him.

Nothing really happened with her, but the behaviors are not appropriate for a working relationship, and you see how he crosses boundaries quite easily.

Anyhow, here's the article if you're interested:

Priests, frocked and defrocked, have been sexually assaulting women for nearly 2000 years. In fact, the case that got Thomas Beckett whacked (Murder in the Cathedral) involved a priest accused of rape and protected by Mother Rome.

Nobody much cared about what these guys have been up to until they started attacking little boys.
