Im sorry if this was already posted, I searched and did not see it.

A mother was fatally shot in front of her children after an argument with a stranger in a South Carolina supermarket parking lot on Valentines Day.
Alexandria Cress Borys, 26, was loading groceries into her car outside a Kroger in Irmo on Tuesday afternoon when the argument erupted between her and another woman, her husband Tyler Borys told Fox57.
Shortly after the altercation ended, Alexandria was shot in the back while her children, a two-year-old and an infant, sat in the car. The mother was pronounced dead at the scene at around 4pm.
The shooter was later identified by police as 23-year-old Christina Harrison.
This is why my husband and I never engage with anyone who has an anger issue. You want to take my parking spot? Go ahead. Give me the finger when Im driving on the road? Feel free to pass me.

(17,467 posts)cursory study to learn what the writers meant would know that. It was never meant as an individual right.

(367 posts)It takes a knowledge of historical linguistics to understand the meaning. If it was written in the English of today, it would be easier to understand. But for now, it doesn't matter what the Founding Fathers meant when the 2nd Amendment was written, the only thing that matters is what The Supreme Court says it means.

(367 posts)is independent of service in a state militia. They said that the first part about the militia is prefatory or an introduction and the second part about people owning guns is the operative clause. It does not matter what the writers of the Constitution meant about any part of it, it is the Supreme Court that has the final say in the matter. The Supreme Court did not rule that the 2nd Amendment was absolute otherwise people would be able to own any weapon they want.

(105,775 posts)I remember years ago being in heavy traffic at a stoplight in the turn lane behind a large transport truck. As I was in a compact car, I could not even see the stoplight but could only hug the bumper of the truck and hope to make it through when the turn light was lit when the truck moved, since they were the only one in front of me at the light and there was a line of traffic waiting to turn behind me. Well, he took his damned time, and apparently, traffic facing us had seen the light turn green for them so by the time I got through one driver had to pause a moment to let me finish the turn. He ran half a block away to catch me caught at the next stoplight tried to open my door and was screaming incoherently. I motioned at the truck still in front of me and motioned that I couldn't see around it. Fortunately, this guy wasn't so beyond reasoning not to immediately recognize what had happened and that it obviously could happen to him as well and he gave a grudging "sorry" and drove off. But he certainly could have shot me, had he been armed before digesting anything I had to say.
The episode of the 23 yo woman who shot the mother is beyond horrific. Damned guns--without them at least there might have been a chance.

(34,294 posts)I am always telling my husband the same thing, dont engage with these psychos. For men, its harder not to get the last word in. You must have been plenty rattled for sure after that happened. I cant imagine an angry stranger trying to open my car door!
A friend of ours was taking another friend home from chemotherapy a few years ago - this was in the Pittsburgh area - traffic was very heavy at the time and she had to merge into traffic from the left, up ahead was a toll booth maybe a mile ahead.
Well apparently and unknowingly she cut in too close for some hot head who felt that she cut me off so when she stopped in line the toll booth this psycho got out of his car, stomped over to her drivers side window, and motioned for her to roll the window down. Thinking he was in trouble for some reason, she rolled her window down, and this jerk without a word punched her right in the face!
Fortunately they were surrounded by a sea of cars at the toll booth, several people called the police, and the guy was apprehended and arrested. She was bruised up pretty good but made a full recovery.
And you never know when or if theyll pull out a gun

I had a nut in Miami try to kill me bc I didn't drive over a drawbridge until the light went green. His wife and baby were in the car. My friend gave them the finger like an asshole, so he went nuts. Fancy sports car.

Snips....
As they were loading groceries into the car, he said an argument started in the parking lot between Alexandria Borys and a woman who was later identified as 23-year-old Christina Harrison.
-----
Harrison has since been charged with murder, unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
She died just under a week after her brother also died from an unrelated gunshot wound.
At least two more American family's lives long-term deeply impacted by selfish, self-centered gun-totin' fools.....

(37,873 posts)This escalated into a confrontation.
"Dales agency has not specified what precipitated the verbal altercation. Sources familiar with the shooting say it all started when a vehicle not involved in the dispute pulled into a fire lane near a liquor store adjacent to the Kroger. This vehicle is said to have obstructed the view of one of the two participants in the argument a driver whose car nearly struck the other participant (a pedestrian) as they were walking into oncoming traffic.
After this near-collision, words and gestures were reportedly exchanged "
