They had their chances. Close games can go either way. They play another 3 minutes, and it could be reversed.

But you know this is coming: the league wants….no, demands another Tom Brady, and they have groomed Patrick Mahomes for that exact purpose. I have spent the last 20 weeks watching the evolution of the PR campaign, including the SB pregame show, which nearly completely disregarded the Eagles and played up Mahomes juxtaposing him with pieces on Brady or comparisons of him within the conversation. This is not random, this is not without Substance.

I am not taking a single speck away from his giftedness and athleticism and will to win. He is a superb player, but anyone who is watched football for any length of time knows that that final penalty call was guaranteed to ice the win for Kansas City, and the reversal of the call where the Eagles receiver had the football in is control pressed against his helmet and then bodily thrust out of bounds was patently ridiculous. At no point did he lose control of that football and that there is no rule that you have to carry it like a baby nestled into your forearm.

I have no problem losing outright to a better team on a given day, I have a big problem losing to the officials and the establishment in the quest for a new icon.
