"SNIP.......
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) still hasnt yet quelled circulating rumors about a third-party bid for the White House, saying on Tuesday that I dont like the direction were going and I dont know what the next chapter will be, I dont know [where] the future lies, I really dont, according to The Hill. The centrist has expressed frustration at the Dems for not making a deal with GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) over the debt limit. Voters will be searching for a leader who will unite America, he said but didnt say if hed be the next person to try to do so as president. Im not saying I have any aspirations, Manchin said. I can tell you one thing: I feel, like most Americans, weve got to come together. Americans want to be united, they want to be together and right now were going further apart.
.......SNIP"

(15,690 posts)Thats all his fan club will allow me to say.
However, I relish the thought of Manchin running as a third party candidate, since that would mean I could more freely speak my mind about him

(6,046 posts)We also do not want to be as poor as most West Virginians. In fact we would love to help Sen Manchin uplift West Virginians. He only needs to set that as a priority and then ask us to help.

(2,849 posts)This guy would have no chance, he barely even won his Senate seat. He isn't presidential material whatsoever.

CBS News reporter Bob Costa actually asked the question at a Zoom press event hosted by Semafor's Steve Clemons.
Here's what the primary source (Costa) reported:

Bob Costa also retweeted Doug Redicker and Semafor who respectively noted:

(15,372 posts)Pretty much the same way the Nazis came to power without ever winning a majority of votes.
You couldn't get through to the majority of West Virginia voters with a baseball bat.
White supremacy rule has worked out so well for the state of West Virginia, hasn't it?
Maybe Joe "Coal" can raise them from 50th in Quality of Life to 48, but that could just be due to Sarah LIE-abby dragging Arkansas down.

(58,785 posts)I value him for running as and being a Democrat and frustrating the hell out of the Republicans' plans. But he frustrated our agenda just too much to support him for even the power he has, much less more.

(7,288 posts)Gotcha Joe But I gotta ask a question: Which set of idiots are you paying who seem to be feeding you these delusional notions of grandeur and popularity? They don't care about you Joe. They know you can't win squat .
But they like your money. just keep bankrolling this campaign and they will keep feeding you bullshit.
So, we're never going to have a Democratic Senator from West Virginia anymore. We need to focus on filling the gap from other states I think we could manage to win for the Senate.
