I am ending my personal boycott of not responding to Trump posts on DU.

I have come to the conclusion that it serves no useful purpose to ignore or to not comment on the sociopath bent on destroying our democracy and our country.

To the contrary, I believe more Americans need to speak up. In my opinion, the new-majority Republicans in the House are attempting to rehabilitate their images as unpatriotic and anti-American insurrectionists. They are still taking their orders from Donald Trump.

That is why the debate over the Pledge of Allegiance in the Judiciary Committee was so important. That is why the comments by Rep David Cicilline were so critical. They cannot let the insurrectionists off so easily when they try to play the patriotic card, as if they are patriotic Americans. They are not.

Also, in case anyone has not noticed, Trump has doubled down on his violent and threatening remarks on his Truth Social page and has begun in earnest to create another violent uprising similar to the one on January 6th, 2001. However, it will likely not be in our nation's Capitol the next time. Instead, it will be in one or more state capitols, in Michigan, or Wisconsin, or Arizona, or Texas, or Kentucky.

In my opinion, they will be organized to attack in the next three months, if nothing is done on the justice front.

He got higher on this than he did even on getting elected. He will constantly for the rest of his life be chasing that high. We have to acknowledge that this guy is just pathological

His every thought seems to pervade all media. One may choose not to engage, but it seems impossible block them

To me it would be better just to ignore him, he craves the attention.

I am reminded of the children’s book “The Emperor Has No Clothes”

Nobody wised up until the very end

It’s not mouths , but ears and what’s between them, and eyes and what’s behind them that matters to me

Trumps bullshit is blasted everywhere. In an attention driven society he is the emperor

I’ll nominate Michigan. Democrats took over both houses, women make up a substantial part of the government, Governor Whitmer is looking like she may be in the White House in some way in the future. It would make a statement.
Can’t tell you how much I want to be so wrong.
