(1,697 posts)to keep their soldiers from the trauma of murdering men, women, children and babies in village after village, they had the local authorities (police) do the actual killing. The police did it willingly. Its not that dark yet, but were getting there.
Last year. I saw a sticker on a car Blue Knights International then found the web site. The club probably does good stuff, but how ironic that the police who have been historically associated with the White Knights of the KKK would name their club The Blue Knights.

The police department in each town is like a gang. Every one knows what everybody is doing. If you have 10 bad cops and 1000 good cops, but the good cops do not get rid of the bad cops, then you have 1010 bad cops.
The blue wall of silence makes every cop a criminal.

(51,724 posts)a lot of info about Germany and WW2 this past week, probably due to the memorial date. One thing that stuck in my mind was hearing that the Nazis wanted to kill their prisoners with a quiet, and quick method. They did not do this to spare the prisoners' further agony but so the SS officers mental state wouldn't be as traumatized. I get the feeling the feeling that this type of behavior is fairly common in police departments. They protect each other's sense of guilt. Monsters!
