Educate me, please. I thought the various House committees were filled by Democrats

appointing their choices and Republicans appointing theirs. The majority party has a majority on nearly every committee and usually chairs each.

But,---I thought that absent a full House vote, no one could be "kicked off" a committee by the opposing party "Speaker".

How can McCarthy decide that Omar, Schiff, etc. can't serve?

Obviously, I don't understand what he's done.

Omar/Schiff will not be named to those committees in that resolution. Today there are no members to the committees, so they are technically not getting kicked off, but being denied membership.

Swalwell off the Intelligence Committee will be fairly easy for McCarthy. Removing Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee, which is a standing committee, will follow the same process by which Democrats removed MTG and Gosar last term.

actual governance... not so much.

And the USA needs to execute now more than ever to push back Russia in Ukraine... push back China... push back fascism everywhere... fight climate change... and ensure a better future for Americans (and the world).
