Republicans making moves toward entering 2024 primary against Trump

washington Post

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis just restarted his Google and Facebook ads, targeting a national audience ahead of a state legislative session he believes will highlight causes that will help him in a presidential primary, according to a Republican consultant familiar with his operation.
Former secretary of state Mike Pompeo’s team has reached out to potential staff in early primary states. Former vice president Mike Pence is looking to add fundraising aides. And Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson is talking with donors and gauging his ability to fund a campaign through an “endurance race.”

Potential Republican rivals to Donald Trump are ramping up their 2024 maneuverings, reflecting a growing sense in the party that the former president is far from the inevitable nominee after a midterm election in which he was blamed for many of the party’s woes. “You never know when that early front-runner is going to stumble,” said Hutchinson, who is urging the party to move on from Trump and said it’s too soon to say who else will catch on.

So far, Trump is the only major candidate who has officially announced his 2024 bid. But both publicly and behind the scenes, major Republican figures are laying the foundations for potential campaigns, according to a review of their activities and interviews with people familiar with the planning, some of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe internal strategy.
Many operatives said they see benefits to sitting back and methodically preparing while Trump deals with growing problems. The former president faces several investigations; criticism of his associations, including a widely condemned dinner he had with antisemites; and growing calls in the party to go in a new direction.

In my opinion, the Orange Nazi is finished. He thinks, being adept at only one thing, conman liar and a cheat ( for stupid people IE, MAGA morons or greedy republicans who know what a jerk off he is, but don’t GAF as their wallet is sacred) he can pull this one out of the fire with his unending line of manipulative bullshit.

Of course the other megalomaniac Republicans, lead right now by an equally horrible candidate in DeSantis, although he’s definitely smarter than the Manchurian Cantelope, are now in full pursuit to blast him out of the way along with of course the Democrats petitioning the Department of Justice to finally clean this guy‘s clock legally.

I think he’s finally in his corrupt life, going to get his comeuppance which is long overdue. Once that happens the Democrats, at least figuratively, will all be out dancing in the streets and celebrating like never before. The witch will finally be dead for any future political affect on our lives. Hallefuckinglujah.

The Republicans should run Cheney for president on the next go round. Now obviously that would be contrary to the general thinking of the Republicans I’m sure at this point however the people who are going to vote on their side ( MAGA morons and greedy ones who pray at the altar of their wallet) are still going to vote for a Republican as they would never vote for a Democrat.

In addition, they would pickup a significant number of independents who were very impressed with Cheney’s very eloquent commanding performance during the J6 committee hearings. The MAGA morons are loaded with all their hateful ism’s ( racism, gay bashing, union hating, misogyniy etc) but they will still vote for Cheney, even though she beat up on that dipshit they so adored, cause still better than one a them commies, socialists, Libs, perish the thought Democrats.

They likely won’t, and we obviously don’t want them to do anything that will lessen our chances to keep our person in the winner’s circle.

When there's a lot of candidates, nobody can get enough momentum to overtake his base. We saw it in 2016, it could easily happen again.

The GOP's best bet is to unite behind an alternative candidate. Probably won't happen.
