Republicans and Defending Democracy

Im curious…. Republicans want to stop spending $$$ on Ukraine aid. We are spending the money to support Democracy and stop Russian expansion. Kind of like how we’ve spent TRILLIONS on defense spending since WWII. Remember when we basically outspent the Soviet Union into virtual bankruptcy? That was Reagan’s plan. Republicans have always been the ‘Hawks” when it comes to military spending.

So what are we spending it for then? All these fancy weapon systems, $14b aircraft carriers, the new strategic stealth bomber, hundreds of billions of dollars a year. I mean we have a huge nuclear arsenal. No one is going to nuke us due to MADD. If we aren’t going to use our military spending to defend democracy then slash the spending. I find these Republicans so hypocritical. For decades they’ve supported funding out bloated military industrial complex with our tax dollars. Now they want to NOT use it for anything? Which is it?

1. I totally agree. They way I look at Republicans is that they are against anything the Democrats

favor, regardless of what it is. Sheer contrarianism.

To hell with humanity and democracy. If the Democrats suddenly supported doubling the defense budget, the Republicans would advocate disarmament. They have no morality or ethics and don’t care about America, only staying in power.
