(4,533 posts)these really matter here in CA. Prop 30 undid the horrible rule tax hikes needed 2/3 vote. Prop 32 would have made union political spending almost impossible. Kochs dropped another 11 million for prop 32 in last 10 days and still lost.

(37,748 posts)A very local race-- TX State Sen Wendy Davis winning re-election in a squeaker. The GOP in the TX State Sen are denied a super-majority. Additionally, Sen Davis is one of the most intelligent, affable, and pragmatic of the TX political establishment. Smart money has her eventually going onto the national state... which would be bitter-sweet for to lose a voice in the state house, yet gain one in D.C.
