Jim Jordan Played A Lead Role In Trying To Overturn The Election According To Newly Published Texts

Jim Jordan Played A Lead Role In Trying To Overturn The Election According To Newly Published Texts

A trove of more than 2,000 of Mark Meadows’s texts was published today, and they show that Jim Jordan played a lead role in Trump’s plot.

Jordan was one of 34 Republican members of Congress communicating with Meadows about overturning the election.

Rep. Jordan wrote to Trump’s chief of staff:

On January 6, 2021, Vice President Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, should call out all electoral votes that he believes are unconstitutional as no electoral votes at all — in accordance with guidance from founding father Alexander Hamilton and judicial precedence.

No legislative act, wrote Alexander Hamilton in Federalist No. 78, contrary to the Constitution, can be valid. The court in Hubbard v. Lowe reinforced this truth: That an unconstitutional statute is not a law at all is a proposition no longer open to discussion. 226 F. 135, 137 (SDNY 1915), appeal dismissed, 242 U.S. 654 (1916). Following this rationale, an unconstitutionally appointed elector, like an unconstitutionally enacted statute, is no elector at all.

Jordan was trying to use the Federalist Papers to say that the election was illegal and Mike Pence had the power to overturn it via the recognition of Trump’s fake electors, which is not what Alexander Hamilton meant.

Every time he was asked a question about Jan 6, he skirted it somehow or had amnesia. He refused to sit before the Jan 6 committee which is IMO an admittance of complicity.

Peter Navarro said on TV there were 100 congressman involved in the Green Bay Sweep...I never doubted Jordan was in that bunch.

I wonder who did?

Btw electors are appointed by the state after the state certifies the vote and that state's vote is based on the
framework directed by the US Constitution.

"Unconstitutionaly appointed elector" is just gibberish.

As I read earlier on DU today this was not about trying to
overturn the election but overthrowing our government.

BTW Gym sure seemed nervous when asked about J 6th.

&t=2s

and now that shit is going to be chairman of the House Judiciary Committee?
he should be in jail for what he did and that was trying to overthrow our government
in order to keep Trump in power.

It’s a case arguing that a bill raising taxes didn’t originate in the house and therefore was thrown out. It became moot when the house raised the bill again and it passed both houses.

That has fuck all to do with electors.

We all knew the Gosar and Gaetz and Greene were guilty almost right away. We all knew that 140 (?)
repubs voted the night of Jan 6th not to certify--they too were guilty. Yet here it is almost two years later
and all of these asses are in our government, reelected because no charges were ever brought against
these people who supported or took a more active role in the insurrection. The R's now control the House.
It irks the shit out of me. Real justice would have had many of these people arrested and not in our House.

Losing that very powerful postion would cause Gym pain.

One of the texts from Treason Caucus member Ralph Norman saying tRump needs to invoke "Marshall Law." to the revelation of how unfamiliar he is with the written term, not to so to his call for a military takeover of the nation.

Btw, WHY do some refer to these people as "congress," falsely equating our Democratic members with them?
