(12,232 posts)But yeah, we're happy up here! And you're welcome to come on up.
edit to add: And I'm proud to say that my retiring state legislator, Mary Lou Dickerson, has been in the lead on this issue for quite awhile, never giving up and helping to pave the way for it by bravely introducing and reintroducing legislation to legalize marijuana before people thought it had a chance. I'm going to miss having her as my state rep.
My state senator also deserves kudos for doing the same.

(9,314 posts)I am so relieved Obama took VA and Kaine won.
I know of a few people I converted so I'm feeling good.
It felt really nice when my brother, who didn't vote but hates Romney, called to congratulate me. He knew I had been really uptight.

(12,232 posts)who moved this forward by proposing it for awhile now. I edited my other post to add some info on that.
That's sweet about your brother

(9,314 posts)Yeah, my brother has made a pretty big turnaround about a lot of things including a woman's right to choose and gay marriage. He's getting there!

(391 posts)The only thing hopeful is that there's still a lot of precincts to still report in. Hopefully the ones that have reported are the ones in the smaller conservative counties and agriculture counties.

(2,434 posts)we already had medical marijuana. Marriage equality not n the ballot, but overturning Citizen's United is. Have not seen results for that yet.

(4,482 posts)Marijuana is now legal under WA law, not federal law.
PS: Colorado too.

(51,907 posts)I'm betting it will go through. One of my phonebanking buddies will now get to marry his girlfriend. Nope--no typos. His lady is transgendered and was born in Ohio, where they refuse to change her birth gender, so he has to marry her as someone who is still legally male--which he can now most likely do.
