The car that started the fire had an unrepaired recall issue that has caused fires in that model when parked and unattended.

the blazes were not suspicious (which is what I've read elsewhere).

I suspect the reality is that one did, and some kind of damage was seen to adjacent cars perhaps even causing a blaze in one or two of them if very nearby.

If 5 cars independently and suddenly caught fire in a parking lot it'd be an incredibly suspicious event, obviously.

Story seems like clickbait.
