Truth Social, Trump's social media platform, is a privately held property of Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), which is owned by the former president.
TMTG is locked into an agreement with Digital World Acquisition Corp, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), which was created to take Mr Trumps company public.
But if Trumps company were to go public only for him to devalue Truth Social by resuming his Twitter activities thus giving his tens of millions of followers a reason to abandon the fledgling social media platform shareholders could sue him, a legal expert told Semafor.

According to an SEC filing by TMTG, the billionaire is generally obligated to make any social media post on TruthSocial and may not make the same post on another social media site for six hours.

Trump has agreed to publish all his musings on his own site, Truth Social, before posting them on any other platform, according to an SEC filing(Opens in a new window), which was spotted by CNBC(Opens in a new window).
He also agreed to make the posts on Truth Social exclusive for six hours. The only exception is for content focused on political messaging, political fundraising or get-out-the vote efforts, which Trump can post at any time on other social media platforms. This condition was likely added in the event he decides to run for president in 2024.
The filing comes from Digital World Acquisition Corp., which is merging with Trump Media & Technology Group, the company behind Truth Social. According to the document, Trump has entered into a license agreement covering his social media usage.
Unless notice is given, the TMTG Social Media Exclusivity Term extends in perpetuity for additional 180-day terms, the SEC filing notes. However, Trump could choose to suspend the exclusivity arrangement due to unforeseen circumstances; for instance, if Apple decides to remove Truth Social from the iOS App Store. In addition, the license agreement could dissolve if Digital World Acquisition Corp fails to complete its merger with TMTG.

(1,801 posts)After Trump was banned from Twitter, her account was used to tweet whatever he wanted.
Well, it looks like she quit Twitter back in May. I wonder if she'll be back just so Trump can exploit a loophole in his contract by having her retweet...er...re-Truth...his messages.

And now it looks like she's back. The Newsweek article mentions a GBCW tweet back in May, but I did a little checking, and her account appears to be up once again,

(7,291 posts)re-posting whatever he "truths" on Truth Social to Twitter, or indeed setting up a fan account that does just that and only that. In fact, that probably happens already and has mercifully escaped my notice, not least because I'd have muted such an account on first sight as I have a very low tolerance and only so much time I can spend reading the stuff that matters to me, let alone the stuff that pisses me off.
Just about all I hear about him nowadays, as was much the case when he was in full cry, is on DU!
But maybe what he has to add to the great jollity and angst of the world, in the end, just isn't that interesting.
