Groundless speculation . . . . . or is it . . . . . ?

The biggest campaign issue that favors Democrats is abortion. The GQPSupremes did this early, early, early in this campaign season. The anger and fervor to counteract it has had time to fade. That was simply happenstance, unless it wasn't. We all know beyond any shadow of a doubt that the GQPSupremes are as partisan as Ginni Thomas herself.

Speculation: the timing was strategic.

they ever told us who the leaker was. Maybe because it was one of the right wing on SC or their spouse’s. We will never find out I am guessing.

That's when most the cases that come up in front of the court are ruled on - so, there wouldn't have been an option to rule earlier or later (see: the ACA, marriage equality, etc). Their term for the year ends in the summer and doesn't start up again until October - where they'll hear cases they'll rule on in ... June or July, 2023.
