Trump's lawyers throw Allen Weisselberg under the bus at tax fraud trial

It was something that both former Donald Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and Trump biographer Tim O'Brien predicted: lawyers for the Trump family threw Allen Weisselberg under the bus in court on Monday, reported Mother Jones.

"I think they're going to be worried about Allen Weissberg because Allen was Fred Trump's accountant before he was Donald Trump's CFO, and he knows where all the financial bodies are buried, and I think they're worried about his testimony to the point that they've already signaled they're going to accuse him of lying," said Trump biographer Tim O'Brien, who has been sued by Trump.

When the Trump family went to court Monday, the Trump Organization was described as a victim of Weisselberg.

“Weisselberg did it for Weisselberg!” said Trump attorney Michael van der Veen.

I think his testimony will be very interesting.

Trump and his ilk will throw negative assertions on people that aren’t licking his taint and thanking him profusely for the debasing opportunity. Can we stop pretending Cohen is some kind of prognosticating saint for merely becoming a convicted non accomplice to furthering crimes?

but his testimony before a congressional committee is why Weisselberg (Trump?) is standing trial..why Letitia James sued Trump and his vile spawn for hundreds of millions of dollars..Cohen gave them the road map and the ammunition...Cohen is no angel but then again neither is Rick Wilson and the Lincoln Project guys...

Trash someone who is protecting you .....

On the one hand, it has zero legal downside for weiselbergh since he has a deal cut.

On the other hand you are destroying him in public. He has nothing to lose either way., but he can seal the deal on tfg and spawn.

Let's see how that works for them.

He should go and testify under oath and set the record straight.

Nah, God doesn't love me that much.

himself. Apparently he won't testify against Trump himself but will testify against the organization.

Reason he won't be completely forthcoming? Mobsters and global crime families and cult figures will eventually get revenge, especially ones with foreign entanglements. He is protecting himself, Trump, and the interests of other corrupt oligarchs.
