When a political candidate wins their primary election, its usually traditional for their rivals from the same party to give their supportbegrudgingly or notto the winner. Not so in Colorados third district.
--snip--
He added, Lets elect someone who cares about representing the majority of people in the middle that are fed up with extreme partisanship and juvenile antics.
Corams endorsement was welcomed by Frisch, who praised him for his public service and said the State Senator recognizes that extremists like Boebert make it impossible to get things done for the people of CO-3. I am building a strong bipartisan coalition to ensure that the people of Southern and Western Colorado have an effective representative in Washington who will focus on the issues facing their families, their communities, and their businesses.

Many political observers assumed the MAGA devotee to be a sure bet to win re-election in the midterms this November. But a new poll at the start of October showed Frisch just two percentage points behind her (45% to her 47%).
A poll last week spelled even further trouble for Boebert. It had Frisch at 45% and Boebert at 40%.

This has become a far closer race than I ever thought, which is very good news. The loon Boebert really needs to go.

(12,596 posts)The story about killing the neighbor's dog is falling apart.
I can assure you it wasnt Lauren Boebert who shot the dog, a spokesperson for the Garfield County sheriffs office told DailyMail.com.
The congresswoman said it was her neighbor Brady Hogan who killed Omega, and only after the dog and another husky owned by Mendoza attacked three of her goats.
They were viciously attacked at the neck and at their rear end, Boebert said. Two dogs at each end on each goat.
Her dogs had been going all throughout the neighborhood, killing chickens and turkeys and cats and other goats, and harassing other livestock, she added. So (Hogan) went in there and neutralized the threat.
Boebert, 35, pointed out that Hogan shot another of Mendozas dogs last October, after it killed a half dozen other animals in the neighborhood, including her own.
Colorado like most states allows dogs to be killed for attacking livestock. The law says: 'Any dog found running, worrying, or injuring sheep, cattle, or other livestock may be killed, and the owner or harborer of such dog shall be liable for all damages done by it.'
And, according to Boebert, Mendoza still has a third dog that the congresswoman says is 'terrorizing the neighborhood'.
She has a husky that is still getting into my goat pen and other peoples goat pens, and I know that calls have been made and there are witnesses throughout the neighborhood, she told DailyMail.com.
He got to one of my goats a couple days ago, leaving a gash on his leg.
Mendoza is now walking her accusation back.
Asked whether Boebert had shot her dog, she told DailyMail.com, Im not sure, I need to figure that out.
I need to take a step back for a second, she said while avoiding further questions. Im not ready to release anything to media sources.

(12,165 posts)That said, putting down dogs that harry small livestock is necessary. We had a good sized herd of dairy goats who were protected by their dogs, Great Pyrenees. If those dogs had gotten into our herd the Pyrs would have killed them with prejudice.
Friends of ours that had mixed livestock on their ranch in the hill country near Austin had a problem with people moving from the city thinking they could just let their dogs run free. Mr. was out in his Jeep when he saw to Golden Retrievers attacking sheep. Two animals dead while the dogs were going after others. He put them both down, and buried them on his property.
The odd thing, people who raise small ruminants protected by livestock protection dogs seldom have the dogs kill coyotes or wolves. Those animals will stay away from sheep or goats with Pyrs or Akbash dogs, deciding its too risky. Neighbor dogs dont understand and will attack the grazers. These are killed by the guardians.
Anyway, I dont know if I read this correctly, but if these dogs were attacking peoples livestock, they needed to be put down. If the kill or injure one animal, thats it.
And I do like dogs, but I love my goats.

(14,614 posts)But those are the base. I think independents are getting pissed.
You know, I was looking at Jena Griswold's voter registration aggregate numbers (I LIKE her as our SOS), and apparently registrations among both Indy and Dem voters are up, up, up in the younger age bands, but down for Republicans.
Not everyone here likes him, but Michael Moore (who was in fact right when he predicted Trump would win in '16) is now calling November 8 'Roevember,' and predicting a real blue wave.
Because honestly, we can disagree about issues, the role government should take, the role of the private sector and have some vigorous debate and compromise to move forward - which is what the founders wanted, or we can be polarized and do nothing. People are getting sick of the Republicans, and in spite of the sniveling 'news coverage' provided by cable networks and the Sinclair Media Group, they are beginning to see the truth about just which party is being the proverbial cork in the rectum of progress.
We'll see - Fingers crossed and hoping Americans wake the heck up and vote accordingly.

The Daily Beast reported in June that a person familiar with the arrangement said the property manager felt he had a moral imperative to close the business and had planned to lease the space to another restaurant, but this has not been confirmed.

And I think it has an effect.
But, for Dems, it amounts to being informed, getting accurate news, knowing a little history, not falling for crazy conspiracy claims, etc.
