The majority of people believe voting Republican is going to fix that? Ignore the fact the Republicans blocked Biden from doing things that could have helped with inflation. Ignore the fact the Republicans are taking their rights away. Ignore the fact the Republican Party is trying to end our democracy. Just focus on inflation and blame the Democrats? If this is true, the American people will pay a heavy price for their ignorance and foolishness.
I do not trust the polls, I will wait for the election results. I still believe we can hold the Senate. Holding the House was always going to be tough, but I thought we had a chance because of how corrupt the Republican Party has become. If the American people vote to put the Republicans in charge of the Senate and the House. The people will pay a heavy price for their ignorance and foolishness.
How many times do you have to punch an American in the face before they wake up and say enough. This election is going to tell us a lot about the American people.
Our Democracy depends on the American people NOT walking, talking and voting with their heads up their ass.

IMO, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the track record of the GOP.

(7,831 posts)inflation is global, due mostly to forces outside POTUS control, takes a while to turn around, and that corporate profits are historically high.
Fine to mention inflation...but without context it's almost as if they are forcing blame onto someone intentionally and unjustly.

(503 posts)Inflation is the major issue. And I'm not seeing voters saying the Republicans will make it stop, but rather they hope to keep the Democrats from doing any more damage.
As someone mentioned already, the Democratic Party has done little to shift that narrative. But truly, that would be a tough one to shift. The price of gas and the price of food is a daily report card.

(4,846 posts)that you can't get any real news without bias in it (both to the left and to the right). I am an immigrant and it always surprises me when I listen/watch to foreign news (even CNN international does a much better job at it). You get real news without the sides, and you realize a lot of items that are politicized here in the US (like climate change, taxes, governmental assisted healthcare, etc) are largely accepted in most countries. Both the left and the right in those countries accept those as facts. They differ at how much money they are willing to throw at those problems.

(17,183 posts)I honestly believe this economy problem starts with the crazy RETHUGLICONS in congress! They are fighting EVERYTHING us Dems are trying to do! IF we had 100% control of both houses today, (i mean 100% not counting the 2 traitor DEMS) we WOULD NOT be where we are today! THIS needs to be screamed high and low everyday until this election is over! Goddam people better wake up in this country!

For many voters - the ones not online consuming political content, Twitter, and cable news all day - the equation is simple. Does my life feel better with the current people in charge?
Their votes will follow how they answer that question.
It has always been this way.

(8,944 posts)Yeah, some actually believe Rs will fix it, even though Rs have no plan that will fix inflation. Others dont care if its fixed or not. They just vote for whoever the R is and go back to sleep for 2 more years. Unfortunate, but thats the state of intelligence in American R voters, when it comes to inflation.
