I’m about as white as a person can get.I grew up in a school system that was segregated until I was in the fifth grade. I know what anti-African-American racism is from having observed it. I certainly have felt anti-female prejudice.Where is this anti-white racism they’re all whining about. I guess their main platform now is paranoia and persecution complex

....basically multi millionaires playing these folks for rubes by setting them against the things which would improve their lives, and the ones they elect do their best to make government suck.

It's a viciously endless cycle of stoking the fears of idiots.

...which has almost unanimously decided to openly exploit anything and everything which provides a means to power, including things which were sacrosanct for decades.

Leadership is what drew the nation out of the morass of segregation, but it's the republican leadership which is pulling its followers away from adherence to democratic principles or the democratic process which helped enshrine those rights and considerations into practice and law.

It's not so much that antipathies have changed all that much in some, but they're now being led to believe their divisive notions are legitimate in our discourse, by republicans and also the media sources which can't seem to get to the point where they actually nail these republicans on their cynical game.

As long as there are leaders in power willing to exploit people's fears and antipathies, there will be a market to sell that in.
