. . . . . and we formed solid opinions on what we saw. Before sharing them, we're wondering how this mightbhave been heard by Ohioans.

(7,261 posts)He's one of us, committed to his cause and a little rough around the edges. He said some things that will probably anger some Dems (comments about Biden and other party leaders, etc.), but the people of Ohio he's reaching out to aren't the people who care whether Biden and Pelosi stay in power.
He's appealing to disaffected repukes and indies because it's the only way he's going to win. As a deep-blue progressive, I give him a pass. Afaic, he can say anything he wants. I only hope to God he wins.
Edited - As far as Vance, he's slicker than I thought. He made a couple of Freudian slips that were pretty revealing.

(24,766 posts)He frames it differently that Biden does.....because Joe is talking National vision, Ryan is talking State redults. He is focused on the 21st century tech jobs that he's bringing to Ohio....that's what Ohio needs - not BS politics that is designed to regress our future.

(24,766 posts)Ryan's coherent responses decimated Vance,,,,,without theatrical lying. Just told the blunt fucking truth. Vance was incapable of formulating a response.
This is how Democrats should engage the Republican Party....everyone running for office should watch this and learn. Tim's media campaign only needs to make a dozen 30 second ads using his debate remarks.

(6,115 posts)from his playbook. This is the way Dems were when I was growing up in Ohio. My Dad was a strong Union man and all his friends were. Ohio then was solidly Democratic and then what the hell happened. Jobs went away that's what. I think he is an amazing spokesman for our cause and he kicked the living shit out of that slimy Vance for all the world to see. Someday Ryan could be Presidential material.

If he becomes the next US Senator from Ohio, he's going to be a player, hopefully, in 2028.

(43,764 posts)no-chance-to-win-at-all-but-I-hate-the-opponent races like Empty G, Rand Paul, Gaetz, etc, (same as we did on 2020 with McTurtle, Lindsey Graham (Harrison himself), Cornyn, etc), whilst actually viable chances to win go underfunded.
