The king of vitriol and partisanship, Newt 'scumbag' Gingrich's 1994 words for Democrats

The most damning comment, not surprisingly, came from a Democrat, New York Rep. Louise Slaughter. Blaming Gingrich for the absolute vitriol we have in the House, Slaughter specifically referenced a memo called Language: A Key Mechanism of Control Gingrich sent to fellow House Republicans in 1994.
That missive, a component of the extreme right wing GOPACs propaganda machine, offers a litany of words and terms that should be used when describing Republican initiatives courage, legacy, inventive, and eliminate good-time in prison and contrasting words used when describing Democratic opposition, including destructive, bizarre and bureaucracy. That last word can also be modified as unionized bureaucracy.
The words in that paper are tested language from a recent series of focus groups where we actually tested ideas and language, Gingrich wrote in a cover letter that came with the memo. This list is prepared so that you might have a directory of words to use in writing literature and mail, in preparing speeches, and in producing electronic media. The words and phrases are powerful. Read them.
