you should be able to complete your paper ballot and mail it or drop it off. It gives me time to study up on all the candidates and judges, and double check for errors. After living in a state with minimal early voting and electronic voting machines (and long lines), I wish every state would switch to paper ballots.

As another who lives in a state wit electronic voting machines, NO early voting, and having to jump through numerous hoops to vote absentee, I couldn't agree more. It gives people plenty of time, and there's a paper trail. If people want to got to a polling place, they should have them open for a week.

National holiday, yes. Early voting OK. If you don't want to vote, you can go in and submit an empty ballot without penalty.

Very few people would exercise their freedom of non-voting in this case.
