Yes. The '90s group was stellar. I know Maddux is in the Hall of Fame... brush Sep 2022 #10
Avery had incredible talent early on but has a pretty steep decline Docreed2003 Sep 2022 #12
I'll go with Spahnie. Good lefties are like gold. He won the most games of any left handed, rsdsharp Sep 2022 #8

Would you rather...have Warren Spahn or Greg Maddux as your staring pitcher?

Here's an oldie rephrased for you.

Spahn and Maddox then pray for rain.

Spahn and Sain were an incredible match. The Braves have had their fair share of great pitching for sure. I think about when Maddux played and the rotation was made up Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, and Avery.

And I'm pretty sure Smoltz and Glavine made it. Don't know about Avery.

pitcher, and due to WWII, he didn’t get to the big leagues to stay until he was 25. Give him an extra couple of years and he might have won 400.

On July 2, 1963, Juan Marichal pitched a 16-inning shutout against the Milwaukee Braves, outdueling Warren Spahn, who pitched 151/3 scoreless innings before Willie Mays won it 1-0 with a home run. Marichal threw 227 pitches; Spahn threw 201.

Curiously, Willie Mays hit the walk off run against Spahn, yet was essentially relegated to the footnotes to the pitching duel of the century.

Even when he was playing for those other teams not named "Cubs." He's among my all-time favorites.
