Wife of accused in B.C. gangster's murder sues RCMP over damage during searches
Spouse argues police should have phoned ahead so she could unlock doors
The spouse of an alleged hit man is suing the RCMP for damages she says resulted when police searched two Alberta properties last February.
Serena Franz says that if police had called ahead, either she or her accused killer husband Matthew Dupre would have arranged to let them into their home and a lakeside property they own.
Franz filed the lawsuit in Red Deers Court of Kings Bench on June 1, alleging police did more than $10,000 in damage when they entered their Sylvan Lake home and a second house in Sunbreaker Cove.
Dupre was arrested in Sylvan Lake after the Royal Thai Police identified him and a second Canadian, Gene Lahrkamp, as suspects in the Feb. 4 targeted execution of former B.C. resident and United Nations gangster Jimi Sandhu.
