(60,074 posts)I voted for summertime skies because with all the light pollution we are forced to live with these days, I miss seeing skies like this.
All of the entries are magnificent!

(3,228 posts)The three that I picked in the preliminaries made the cut, but I want to reconsider all of the entries. Kudos to the finalists!

(55,011 posts)these are gorgeous. corn and high elevation flowers say summer the most to me, going to go with the flowers just because I haven't been in high country in a long time to see that. all are so nice. poppies need to go in more contests because I really wanted to vote as such a great photo. VERY hard to choose without the summer instructions. still hard to choose!

(3,228 posts)Considering all of the other final entries, I notice that they (possibly with the exception of the sublime Summertime Skies) are images of living things and the water that makes life possible. My entry in the preliminaries was of an illuminated fountain show that took place in a region where there is an abundance of water (for now). Water enough to waste, it may seem.
The leaf looks brittle and prickly; it sits starkly against a black background, and in contrast to the vitality and bright colors of the other entries. The photographers skills are considerable, and a photo of lesser quality would not have had the same impact.
I dont find Drought pleasant to behold. It's a reminder of the terror of our situation, which is why it got my vote.

I voted for the "Waiting for a bite" as it said "summer" the most to me.
"The Guardian of the Red Savina Habeneros" is absolutely breathtaking.
I LOVE the composition of "An August Evening."
"Summertime Skies" is beautiful and peaceful.
They are all fantastic!

(22,380 posts)I could not get over the way its beauty struck my core.
There are others in these finals that are beyond exquisite. But I was forced to go with my gut.
