Hillary Clinton was on the View yesterday and said when she was Secretary of State all papers that were top secret had to be viewed in a secure room or if it was imperative she reviewed top secret papers a man brought them to her in a brief case that was hand cuffed to his wrist and she had to give them back after she reviewed them.
Hillary was amazed trump could get those documents. Where was the man with the briefcase? What happened to him?

(51,087 posts)the really dangerous systemic corruption he ushered in and that may still be in place.
It is one of the two most important questions in this crime, along with the question of who saw the documents.
Everyone who did not follow protocol with ALL of those documents who is still in their jobs needs to be fired.

(10,162 posts)And some of them are still in government, like the Inspector General who covered up the erasure of Secret Service records for January 6. He should have been fired months ago.

(8,958 posts)I never had a person with a handcuffed briefcase.
I would even create TS docs and send them to security to enter them into the system.
If I wanted to walk out with TS docs, I could have done it easily, except with NATO, they'll search your underwear if they needed to.
I had to turn over anything that had memory in it, including digital watches and calculators, newspapers, personal mail, anything with my name on it, before entering the facility.

(1,693 posts)Should have been fired via the impeachment process not once but twice. The democrats and a small group of republicans got that, but unfortunately there were too many republicans that couldnt get it together to do the right thing. He got impeached in the house but the Senate didnt step up to the plate and convict him.
So once again in his crazy life, he gets away with it and it emboldens him to continue down the same path, ergo the documents craziness. He thinks hes Teflon Don and can do whatever he wants and unfortunately so far hes right.

Bullshit.
Your loyalty does not belong to the man. Your loyalty does not belong to the individual. You loyalty and allegience belongs to to the country. To protect, and defend, and assure the preservation of the country. That is the mission, that is the goal, that is the promise.
Some how the system broke down. There are various established governmental protocols for handling top secret documents. Somehow there was a major breach of those protocols. The systems and protocols put in place failed miserably. Somehow tRump decreed that his luxurious beach mansion called Mar-a-Lago would become the new ANNEX Library of Congress Warehouse for the Storage of Top Secret Documents.

Like Barr on Fox, they have the evidence to charge him, but shouldnt!
I am sure Merrick Garland will tale Barrs advice. The guy who covered for Iran/ Contra now giving advice to the new AG!
Much like a former Governor stole millions from Medicaid was entrusted with the RNC money. Now it is broke! Gee, wonder why?

Given what we have seen by Trump, most wouldnt risk their livelihood by tussling with him over documents.

No, I think it was an inside job of Trump's staff.

(593 posts)If everything is so strict, and everything has to be checked out and checked in by the end of the day, they wouldve noticed things were not checked in immediately.
That leads me to believe it was an inside job inside NARA. If nobody did it obviously Im not blaming anybody. Im just saying to me thats where I would be looking and I assume the FBI is looking at that too.
Remember MAGATS are in a cult with total allegiance to TFLG.
As to your question, this may not have been noticed until someone wanted to view one of the stolen documents and reported.
