Just imagine what his obituary would look like. I suspect trumps name will appear more than his own.
I think there is a consensus that trump is blackmailing him. After all, what could account for the 180 a few years back and, as nance Gregg pointed out in a post earlier today, his living without a spine.
You know, though, he could become a hero is he just came clean. Whats the blackmail all about? If its lifestyle, well, its lifestyle. My calendar tells me its 2022. More than half the American population doesnt give a damn. If its crime, admit it and pay the price. Perhaps bring honorable for once in your life will be cathartic. And just maybe he can single-handedly right the course of American democracy - thats where the hero part comes in.
Or maybe he is just a spineless weasel riding the coattails of a rabid weasel because that gives him joy.
One more thing. Does graham not realize that trump eventually turns on everyone?

(5,461 posts)I believe he is being told by his handlers to get on TV and say stuff- that BBC interview .Im quite sure he doesnt want to defend the idiotic things he says or any of the other R wing nonsense.

(95,157 posts)Graham is someone without any particular appeal who latches on to someone else who's successful so he can have "relevance" and feel important.
The rumors are meaningless.
Graham has nothing of his own to offer so he tries to live in the reflective light from others.
If there is blackmail, then Graham is even more of a spineless weasel as is anyone who doesnt stand up to Trump.

(18,041 posts)Been rumored since his time at USC law school. And it may be 2022 in much of the country, but not in South Carolina. It's barely 1822 down there. Plus rumors that he likes his partners a bit on the young side. How young might lead to something criminal perhaps. Who knows? Whatever it is, it's damning and its revelation scares the shit out of him.

(22,102 posts)I detest Graham. Hes a first-class weasel and toady.
Yet, despite unsubstantiated rumors, I havent seen or heard any evidence or public statements about Grahams sex life, (it makes me uncomfortable to even mention that!).
Until then, Ill just hate him for his un-American Republican bullshit.

And no matter where he orients with his sexuality (unless it involves under aged or unwilling partners), I will still hate him for his politics only.

(18,041 posts)Unless I'm mistaken, and I don't think I am, his remora like grip on Trump or anyone else is a relatively new phenomenon. There was a time when he was conservative, but not stupid conservative, to the point of irritating the far right if his party. Haven't seen that in him since 2017ish.

Theres always been some form of hero worship. It transferred to rump when John McCain became too sick to make the rounds of Sunday morning talking-head programs.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about his lifestyle. His politics is the only thing that matters in my mind. But the fact is, South Carolina Republicans won't send an openly gay man back to Congress. And many on the far right were none too happy with him back in the Bush years when he openly supported W's immigration reform plan among other things. He faced relatively serious primary opposition in 2008 and 2014. Fast forward to the late 20 teens and he's a dyed in the wool Trump supporter? Granted, that's the direction the GQP wind is blowing, but I think there's more to it than that. He use to be willing to buck the far right of his party if it made legislative sense. Not anymore. Not since 2016.

So many little people afraid of facing the consequences of their lives while at the same telling us to do just that. I hate hypocrites more than Republicans, though I admit the Venn diagram of the two looks exactly the same.

(116,106 posts)Maybe if he dug around though those skeletons he'd find a spine. But he's really stuck now, because he must know that TFG always turns on people the minute they stop kissing his ass. So Graham has to keep his lips firmly affixed to those vast orange buttocks no matter what, since he hasn't the cojones to stand up to TFG's mean non-tweets.
