1. Are all boosters going to be the bivalent vaccine going forward? I tried signing up on CVS and it didn't give me an option (other than Pfizer vs. Moderna), so I assume so, but couldn't find a definitive answer.
2. Does it make sense to wait a couple of weeks to get boosted to try and maximize immunity during colder months, when spikes are more likely? My inclination is to do it now, which I know is consistent with advice from public health expert, but curious what others are doing.

(24,403 posts)is yes, they are specific to the current variants. I have also heard that to be eligible you must be two months past your most recent booster, and if you have had Covid, you must be three months past that.

(51,723 posts)I think that the other 2 boosters you had to wait 6 months. I like "2 months" better (got mine 4 months ago).

My last booster was July 7th, but I'm just getting over Covid with mild symptoms now. I don't mind waiting three months. Sharpton was also saying that since no human tests were done on this booster, they are relying on the results over the next several months as to how effective it is, so I don't mind waiting.

(48,760 posts)1. I want protection as soon as I can get it.
2. And I would rather be protected more during the Fall and holidays as opposed to the cold months.
Jan, Feb, and March are cold, snowy and ice where I live and I don't get out much then.
